COVID-19 Resources

During these unprecedented times of uncertainty, we know many hockey families have mixed feelings of excitement and  apprehension about returning to the rinks.  SYHA will continue to update this page with the latest resources to help families understand what is being done at the local level to protect the health and safety of our members.

Minnesota Hockey has released its updated Return to Play Guidelines, following the announcement by the State of Minnesota on June 19 that organized youth sports may follow a set timeline towards resuming full team practices, scrimmages and games.

Remember we can contribute to helping eliminate COVID-19 by doing these four things:

  • Physical Distance
  • Wash Hands and Practice Safe Hygiene Habits
  • Clean Surfaces and Equipment Between Uses
  • Staying Home When Sick or Experiencing Any Symptoms

The knowledge and circumstances around COVID-19 are changing constantly and, as such, SYHA will continue to follow the guidance provided by Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey.

What do I do if my player or someone in my family tests positive for COVID-19?

  • Inform the SYHA COVID-19 Contact of a player testing positive, someone in their household testing positive or if they've been exposed to someone confirmed to have COVID-19.
  • Stay home for a minimum of 10 days since symptoms first appeared and until there is no fever for at least three days without medication AND improvement of other symptoms.
  • Siblings and household members should also stay home for 14 days and follow the MDH Decision Tree on when to return.
