FAQS

  • Q: Why add Jersey # selection process?
    • A: To eliminate jersey # collisions.  Once a player chooses his or her number that number will be with them through their career with youth hockey.
  • Q: Why can’t my player select a number outside of their year (i.e. Odd vs. Even #’s)?
    • A: Simply due to the growing size of our association we have to implement systems that allow enough numbers to be available year after year for new incoming players while keeping in mind the collision issue of above.
  • Q: Can I re-use my jersey from previous season?
    • A: Yes*
  • Q: Can I change my number from last season?
    • A: Yes, you can if the number is still available, however you will need to order a new jersey at the replacement price
  • Q: Will goalies need to pick certain #'s?
    • A: No, Goalies are able to choose whatever number they would like within the odd/even cadence for their year, also based on availability.
  • Q: If my child is a Bantam level, but trying out for HS, should I order a jersey for Bantam's this season?
    • A: Yes, order a jersey with a blank name plate and the number of your choice (within the odd/even requirements).  If your child makes HS, SYHA will buy your child's jersey back to use for children that come into the association.  If your child does not make the team, Lettermen will add the name for you, for a fee.
  • If your child chooses not to register for hockey, their number will be released when teams are made.

*Note:  If a player choses to release his or her number and reselect, they would have to follow current policy in place.
